'Fears' sketchbook project

Hey.

Yeah, I know... this whole "let's take a bunch of images, shrink them, and paste them into one file" thing isn't IDEAL, but it is one single project, and I hate when people post a billion different deviations for one project.

This was done for the Sketchbook Project for show at the Art House Gallery in Georgia. So if you live in Georgia, you should go down there and see their halloween show. I wish I could! My entry is for sale @ $80.

It's a 3X5 moleskine sketchbook filled with "claustrophobia" imagery done in mixed media (ink, graphite, marker, charcoal, pencil crayon, conte, text, probably others). The book is interactive, meaning that there are pages where the viewer can touch and move and control some of the imagery. I love it! ^_^

Now clarifications of each page:

1. Claustrophobia (theme)
2. "Pushy crowds"
3. "Tight spaces"
5. "Always searching for an escape route"
6. Same page, but with flap lifted.
7. "like a caged animal"
9. "You can hear but you can't reach." the pull tab moves the arm so that the figure beats against the wall.
10. "darting eyes, rapid heart beat"
11. "no room to grow"
13. "world closing in on us"
14. "no breathing"
15. "it's for your own protection." Any Thief players should find this one familiar.
17. "forget which way is up"
18. "like drowning"
19. "walls that move/walls that breathe"
20. Pop-up character
21. "air holes you can see out of"
22. "sometimes it just isn't worth the effort"
